Flavio PAJER: Educazione religiosa in un mondo pluralistico

Flavio Pajer: L’educazione cristiana e il nuovo umanesimo

The author observes that occidental civilization knows a progressive diminution of ethical, religious and symbolical values because it is far away from man and his real needs. In the first part, the author presents different humanism perspectives from the 20th century and points out their partial and sometimes contradictory character. This character is inherited by the post-modern humanism, which represents a true challenge for the Christian education. The post-modernity’s challenge presents more elements: the gathered presence of some visions about the world; the significance loss of a certain type of anthropology and Christian education; the person’s unity which is threatened by a vast set of structural and cultural ruptures (the rupture between progress and the spiritual values, the radical distinction between the public and the private sphere); the lack of Christian acts cultural consistency. In the second part, the author makes evident the necessary conditions to answer man’s moulding challenge in the post-modern period. Here are a few examples of these conditions: the complexity’s criteria assumption, the wisdom growth strategy identification and the answer to the ethical imperative of personal responsibility. In the end, the author takes over the pope’s John Paul the second’s stimulus from the Fides et Ratio encyclical (no. 107) and pleads for a better look deep down in the human being inmost parts, where it is forming the wish for truth and ration.

Gravissimum educationis, în dialog cu P.S. José SARAIVA MARTINS

Catholic education has known an impressive development along the history. It has always been in the focus of the Church, mainly during the Second Vatican Council when it was discussed the necessity of reforming the spirit of education departing from the Gospel based Tradition. The interview points out these discussions and shows primarily the communitarian concept of the educational process in which the teacher-student empathy is essential for the formation both of the one that is educated and of the one that is educating.

Wilhelm Dancă: Formarea permanentă: Când şi pentru cine?

The permanent formation is a necessity every time and for every people, taking into account the axiological confusions and the misleading changes which are influencing the contemporary society. Starting from this point, the author of the editorial which introduces the theme of the 20th number of the theological magazine Dialog Teologic, considering thoroughly the doctrine of the Council Vatican II, the recent teaching of the Catholic Church, and the decisions of the Synod of Iaşi, underlining the importance of the permanent Christian formation of both of lay persons, whose mission is to sanctify the temporary realities, and of priests, called to be ministers of Christ in this changing world and servant of the holy sacraments. The permanent formation is a right, but also a duty and has to get an integral and unifying dimension that is why it remains an urgent exigency both for priests and for lay persons.

Ioan Robu: Educaţia catolică, astăzi

The contemporary society is confronting with a crisis of education caused by the collapse of the totalitarian systems and by the complex phenomenon of postmodernism. The article of Msgr. Ioan Robu starts by presenting this crisis situation of education in the Catholic schools from Europe, sketching then their common problems: the relativist and the agnostic mentality and the encroachments or the influences of the political and economical systems in the schools’ life. However this adverse context should not determine the Catholic school to abandon its specific calling and its human, cultural and religious finalities. Therefore, in the conclusion of this study, the author suggests the concrete forms of acting which devolve from the identity of “Catholic school” both in the ecclesial field and in the social one.

Wilhelm Dancă: Educaţia ca armonie între credinţă şi cultură, astăzi

Faith and reason are the two wings that raise man to know God. Extrapolating this motto of the Church Magisterium, Wilhelm Danca presents in the “Editorial” of our theological review its direct implications in the field of the culture and of the education in the Catholic school. After a succinct exposition of the statistics concerning the nowadays situation of the Catholic schools from Europe and Romania, the author presents the “lights and darkness” that can be discerned behind these numbers suggesting then the fundamental characteristics which make up or devolve from the identity of “Catholic school”. Thus, replying to the exigencies of the integral humanism, the Catholic school and, especially, the educating community have to be centred on the human person, whom they have to offer real wisdom and life vision, without making social or economical discrimination. Finally, the author expresses his conviction that the achievement of these exigencies depends on the bishop of the place who looks after the members of the teachers’ community.

Flavio Pajer: L’educazione religiosa tra identità confessionali, dialogo interreligioso e spiritualità secolari

The theme of this article is the religious education, seen in the view of the religious identity, of the interreligious dialogue and of the secular spirituality, in the context of a multicultural and globalized word. In the first part of the article, the author analyzed the religious identity in front of the “different”, identity that is considered to be more fragile. That is why, in the second part, he is asking what kind of identity has to be promoted in a pluralist context, trying to give an answer to this important question of our society. In the third part, Prof. Flavio Pajer shows that public education has to be like a chamber of dialogue, a stimulus for living together, which does not lead to uniformity, but rather to responsibility. Finally, there are exposed the new religious competences necessary for living in pluralism.

Corneliu Berea: Violenţa domestică din perspectiva teologiei pastorale

The author seeks, in this article, to catch the social phenomenon of domestic violence in the context of Church ordinary pastoral, with an especial attention to domestic violence on women and children in Romania. The analysis of domestic violence on these categories of persons follows, in a big part that is affirmed by Ana Muntean, professor at Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in an article from 2003. The article ends with pastoral proposals, already applied in different Churches in the world, by which it is sought to combat this phenomenon.
